Become a sponsor to Aaron Gustafson
Hi, I’m Aaron Gustafson. I’ve spent more than 30 years working on the web as a developer, designer, writer, teacher, standards advocate, and accessibility practitioner.
Most of my work starts from a simple premise: technology should meet people where they are. That idea led me to progressive enhancement, pulled me deeper into accessibility, and now shapes how I think about AI, design tools, and the systems we use to build for the web.
Outside of my day job, I maintain and contribute to projects that help make the web more open, accessible, and resilient. Right now, that includes:
- The Web We Want, which helps web designers and developers share ideas for the future of the platform;
- a growing collection of progressively enhanced web components;
- writing, research, examples, and tools focused on accessibility, inclusive design, progressive enhancement, and the responsible use of AI; and
- support for open source work that helps people with progressive speech disorders preserve access to their voices.
Sponsorship gives me more room to do that work: maintaining projects, improving documentation, paying for hosting and other project costs, testing ideas, and turning half-finished experiments into things other people can actually use. It also helps me keep more of that work openly available.
There may never be a tidy dividing line between my code, writing, teaching, and community work. They tend to feed one another—which is part of the fun. If something I’ve made has helped you solve a problem, learn something new, or build a more accessible corner of the web, sponsoring my work is one way to help me keep going.
Thank you.
